Are you interested in sustainable development, construction, and master planning? Is part of your remit to integrate or specify sustainable solutions or approaches in reconstruction, disaster resilience or reconstruction projects or programmes? Or are you looking for a tool to benchmark the potential sustainability outcomes as part of a reconstruction project and therefore identify the benefit to a disaster affected community? If so we are running a two day Practitioner training course on the QSAND tool.

Drawing on the standards of the world leading sustainable design and assessment method for buildings, BREEAM, QSAND aims to drive and where relevant benchmark sustainable approaches to the recovery and reconstruction process. Delivered through a mixture of presentations, workshops and exercises, delegates will be taken on a journey through the QSAND process gradually building up their knowledge and confidence towards becoming a knowledgeable QSAND practitioner.

Delegates will emerge with a thorough understanding of the QSAND tool, process and the benefits for disaster affected communities not only in the short term but integrated over the long term. Key learning outcomes from the course:

  • An understanding of the QSAND process and how it fits into existing structures
  • Clarity on how to approach and apply the tool with the mind-set of a QSAND practitioner
  • The key aspects of applying QSAND to a recovery or reconstruction project or programme
  • The benefits and outputs of using QSAND for the beneficiaries
  • Support structures in place for practitioners and users of the QSAND tool

All candidates completing the course will receive an attendance certificate. The course is supported by the BRE Academy.

Lunch and refreshments are provided on the day.
